2025/26 Course dates
The dates for the 2025/26 academic year are as follows:
Semester 1
29 September 2025 - 19 December 2026
- The week 3, November - 7, November is Reading Week with no teaching (BSL: There will be no teaching in week 6 in both semester 1 and semester 2 - during this week students will have a summative assessment. Please check assessment information).
- Please note that there is no Reading Week for our LEAP language for Healthcare courses.
Semester 2
2 February 2026 - 15 May 2026
- No teaching period between Monday, 30 March and Monday, 20 April 2026.
- Please be aware that there will be assessments in Semester 2 in weeks 11 and 12.
- There is no reading week in Semester 2.
Please ensure that you are enrolled before the beginning of each semester.
Please note that LEAP does not accept students (including paying students) in Semester 2 for a full year course.
Change of course
Credit students
All Students are permitted to request a change of course provided that they meet the requirements of enrolment on such course and availability of places.
Changes of the course may be requested by writing by 5pm on Friday of Week 2 of the course for full year courses, and by 5pm on Friday of Week 1 for one semester courses (subject to approval and availability)
Members of public and non-credit students
Changes of the course or refunds may be requested by writing by 5pm on Friday of Week 2 of the course for full year courses, and by 5pm on Friday of Week 1 for one semester courses. We will not provide any refund if the request to withdraw is after these dates.
- Full-year courses: 5pm on Friday of Week 2 of the course - Friday, 10 October 2025.
- Semester-only courses: 5pm on Friday of Week 1 of the course - Semester 1: Friday, 3 October 2025 Semester 2: Friday, 6 February 2026
Paying students may be eligible for a partial refund if they wish to withdraw from a full year course before the start of Semester two. We will not provide any refund if the request to withdraw is after 5pm on the Friday of Week 2, Semester 2.
Unless in the case of a timetabling clash, all refunds will incur an admin fee of £30.
The course description gives a good indication of the level of the class, and tutors may be available to briefly assess your level when you apply. Credited students should note the deadlines for course unit selection via their Home School. It is not possible, unless in exceptional circumstances, to change your course unit to a higher or lower level after the deadline for course unit selection has passed.
