The Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies is a research centre which brings together the staff and doctoral students of the University of Manchester who conduct research in the field of translation studies.

Together we make up the largest concentration of translation and interpreting studies specialists in the UK, and among the largest worldwide.

With its home in the prestigious School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, CTIS offers unique opportunities for research both in core areas of translation studies and at its interdisciplinary cutting edge.

As can be seen in the Research section of this website, our research interests, perspectives and methodologies are varied and diverse.
