Frances Leviston
Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing
Frances Leviston is a poet, critic, and short story writer. She has published two books of poetry, Public Dream (2007) and Disinformation (2015), both with Picador. Her first book of short stories, The Voice in My Ear, was published by Jonathan Cape in 2020. She has been shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize, the International Dylan Thomas Prize, and the BBC National Short Story Award, and commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery. She served as the Blackburn Distinguished Artist in Residence at Duke University from 2024-25. Frances joined the Centre for New Writing in 2016.
