Our research is interdisciplinary and wide-ranging, with a particular emphasis on the visual cultures of France and the French-speaking world.
We are proud to number among our ranks internationally leading scholars working in fields as diverse as early medieval studies; French Enlightenment drama and culture; French art; exotic literature; cultural memory of the Holocaust in France; contemporary French and francophone cinema and photography; contemporary dance, popular music and performance; gender, sexuality and ethnicity in contemporary French and francophone cultures.
A dynamic research culture is maintained through regular research events and conferences and by externally funded individual and collaborative research projects, which generate leading publications and impact in the fields concerned.
