We are delighted to have welcomed another group of SCIC trainees to Manchester. Five Mongolian trainees joined us on 11 January and are enjoying a busy programme of lectures, interpreting classes and English enhancement sessions.

Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence to fund expert speakers

We're delighted that Catriona Howard, MACINT interpreter trainer, has been awarded some money by the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence to invite four expert speakers in to deliver talks and Q&A sessions.

Exciting changes to our course design

After much hard work, we are proud to announce a number of very exciting changes to our course design. They will kick in in the next academic year (commencing September 2015) and we are convinced they will make a real difference to our students.

New interpreting suites for September 2015

We have just had confirmation that by September 2015 we will have two brand new interpreting suites for our students to train in. A training suite with six booths and a conference room with eight fitted booths and video-conferencing equipment.

Students get to practice at the International Maritime Organisation

This summer twelve MA Conference Interpreting students will have the opportunity to "dummy booth" at the International Maritime Organisation in London. They will get to practice simultaneous interpreting with the microphone off.
