Connecting rural areas to the creative economy
This research project is a collaboration between the Institute and Cheshire East Council exploring the opportunities and barriers for working in the creative sector in rural Cheshire.
The project will identify how local authority and related agencies support creative industries, the skills that local organisations and entrepreneurs require to engage in creative economy-related work and how to find creative talent in rural communities.
We are using an HTC Vive (virtual reality) kit as an engagement method and visiting community events and festivals over a six month period (January - June 2018).
Connecting rural areas to the creative economy is led by AHRC Creative Economy Engagement Fellow Dr Jessica Symons.
