Management committee

The CIDRAL Management Committee, chaired by the Director of Cidral, Dr Francesca Billiani, meets twice a semester and includes representatives from all Subjects in the School.

Francesca Billiani became director of CIDRAL at the beginning of the 2015-16 academic year and is Senior Lecturer in Italian.

Prof Barry Cooper 

Barry Cooper is Professor of Music.

Prof Laura Doan

Laura Doan is Professor of Cultural History and Sexuality studies.  She is the author of Disturbing Practices: History, Sexuality and Women's Experience of Modern War (Chicago, 2013) and Fashioning Sapphism: The Origins of a Modern English Lesbian Culture (Columbia, 2001), and editor or co-editor of several essay collections, including The Lesbian Postmodern (Columbia 1994) and, with Jay Prosser, Palatable Poison: Critical Perspectives on The Well of Loneliness (Columbia, 2002) and, with Jane Garrity, Sapphic Modernities: Sexuality, Women, and National Culture (Palgrave, 2006). Her current research project (Average and Healthy) explores how the idea of the normal became the most powerful ideological force of the modern age.

Lauren Fonteyn is Lecturer in the History of English.

Roy Gibson is Professor of Latin and Director of Research for the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures.

Dee Reynolds is Professor of French.

Philipp Roessner is Lecturer in Early Modern History.

Tristan Burke (Research Assistant)

Tristan Burke is the CIDRAL research assistant and is involved in the administration and running of CIDRAL events. He has recently submitted a PhD in English Literature with a strong comparative element.
