Established in 1996, Late Antiquity is dedicated to understanding how the Mediterranean-wide empire of the Romans gave way to a patchwork of rival kingdoms whose leadership cultivated ethnic and religious difference.

Late Antiquity has acted as the focus for a number of research projects, most recently the RCUK-funded 'Constantine's Dream'. Find out more about its projects, people, publications and postgraduate study.
